Former Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello spoke on the situation at the club following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe. The Italian coach admitted that there are many stars at amongst ‘Los Blancos’, insisting that the French captain should keep his feet on the ground as he is “just like any other players” at Madrid.
Former Real Madrid head coach Fabio Capello has warned Kylian Mbappe that there is no one star player at Madrid, but instead that the team is made up of many stars. The French striker made his long-awaited move to ‘Los Blancos’ in June, as he left PSG on a free transfer.
Mbappe struggled to get off the mark in his opening games at Spanish capital, though he seems to have picked up form in recent matches, as he currenlt counts six goals in his last eight appearances. However, injuries have impeded him from being 100% fit in recent clashes, as he was also exlcuded from the national team by Deschamps because of it.
Capello has since spoken on the 25-year-old, aiming a subtle dig as he hinted that Mbappe’s attitude could be a cause of concern for Italian copatriot Carlo Ancelotti. “When a big star goes to Real Madrid, he has to understand he has to work like any other player. At Real Madrid, there’s not one star, but many,” Capello said as he spoke to ‘TMW’.
Nonetheless, Capello insists that he has full confidence in Ancelotti to overcome this potential issue. ‘I think Carlo Ancelotti needs time, but he knows a lot of thing. Soon, Carlo will find the right balance to achieve victories,” he added. Real Madrid are back in action after the international break as they face Celta Vigo on October 19th. Mbappe is expected to return to full fitness ahead of the La Liga clash.
