Tijjani Reijnders, still officially a Milan player, addressed the press following the Netherlands’ latest fixture and admitted he is excited by the prospect of joining Manchester City.
The Dutch international reportedly underwent a medical on Sunday, with an official announcement expected within hours.
Reijnders’ transfer to Manchester City appears to be all but finalised. The Premier League champions are set to strengthen their midfield with the arrival of the Netherlands international, who will cost the club close to €70 million.
The Milan midfielder made no attempt to hide the fact that the deal is nearing completion: “We couldn’t wait any longer. My intention is to take part in the Club World Cup with City,” he revealed.
“I’m excited. This way, I’ll be able to meet my new teammates straight away. I’ll return to Zeist on Sunday evening, and then prepare for Tuesday’s match against Malta,” he added.
