Bellingham suffering from shoulder problem again

Dani Carvajal was substituted just after scoring Real Madrid’s equaliser in their 4-1 win over Espanyol due to a knock, as Carlo Ancelotti revealed. The Italian also confirmed that Jude Bellingham’s shoulder problems from last season have returned, but he is confident he will be able to count on the Englishman against Alaves on Tuesday.

Real Madrid ended the match against Espanyol with the uncertainty of Carvajal’s substitution and the moment when Bellingham, after an action, took his hand to his injured shoulder. Ancelotti, in the press room, clarified the situation of each player.

“Carvajal is carrying a knock, it’s nothing particularly serious. Bellingham has had a shoulder problem that has been resolved well. He was able to play the whole game without any problems. Let’s see how the shoulder evolves, but it doesn’t seem to be anything worrying,” Ancelotti told the press conference.

In the first minutes of the match, Jude went on the pitch to fight for a ball and felt an intense pain in his shoulder. Doctors attended to him and he was able to continue playing, but when he was substituted he was seen on the bench looking clearly in pain.

“Bellingham has always played with protection and this season he started without it because he was doing so well. Now he’s had the shoulder problem again which has resolved itself very well, he hasn’t asked to come off. He has to take care of himself, but I think he can be available for the next game,” he added.
